My goal is to help you uncover your true potential, and move toward leading a life that is worth celebrating.
While we can't change the difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve the challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my clients individual needs to help them attain the personal growth they are striving for. Everyone has times when life feels overwhelming, and without joy or pleasure.
Therapy can help you and your family find its way back to a joyful life.
I am a licensed marital and family therapist with over 10 years of experience. I received my M.Ed. in Marital and Family therapy from Carson Newman College in 2000. I am a Clinical Fellow with the American Association of Marital and Family Therapy, and am currently an AAMFT Supervisor in Training, providing supervision to counseling graduates working toward licensure as a marital and family therapist.
I enjoy working with adults, children, couples, and families. I have a particular interest in working with couples, stepfamilies, children, and relationship issues. Although I would consider myself eclectic in my therapy approach, I often use Sue Johnson's work Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. Additionally, I am a Certified Internal Family Systems Therapist. You can find out more about these therapy approaches at www.selfleadership.org, and www.iceeft.com. I also provide individual therapy for a variety of issues, such as depression and anxiety.
Additionally, I am a Tennessee Rule 31 trained mediator, and have a particular interest in working with families to craft workable, developmentally appropriate parenting plans.
