EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE
An employee assistance program (EAP) is a service provided to both employers and employees. The EAP offers professional, confidential assistance for employees and their family members who are experiencing personal problems. The EAP also assists employers who are dealing with employee performance issues and workplace crises.

Companies may provide employee assistance programs for their organization and employees. National or regional EAP companies often contract with local providers to provide services to their covered employees and to local workplaces.
