TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY:
Hello and welcome to Cove Mountain! I
am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 11 years experience providing
therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families. The majority
of my work is with parents and their children. My approach is to
provide practical interventions that work with your individual child/teen.
I believe that you are the expert on your child so my job is to
guide, support and make suggestions towards obtaining your goals.
In working with families, I have discovered that one person is rarely
to blame for children/family difficulties. Instead, the difficulties
come from unsuccessful interactions between family members. Often,
there is not a “good fit” between a parenting style and a child’s
personality/temperament. I help families find new successful ways
to interact which result in improved behavior, structured and organized
households, improved communication, and closer relationships.
In addition to working with families, I am involved in advocating
for women’s rights. I often see women in my office who feel that
they have no ability to make their lives what they want it to be.
They are over-working, over-giving, and need a chance to get back
to taking care of themselves. Taking this step results in a more
fulfilling life in every area.
If you are interested in setting up an appointment or have any questions,
call me at 659-0834. Nothing worthwhile is ever easy, but with
support you will be surprised at how much you can do.

QUALIFICATIONS:
I received my Master’s degree in Social Work from
the University of Tennessee in 1995. From 1991-1998, I worked at
Camelot Care Center in two different treatment programs for severely
emotionally disturbed children and adolescents. The majority of
my experience there was in an intensive program working with families
in their homes. From 1995-1998, I was a director of the Camelot
in-home program in Maryville. From 1998-2002, I worked at Blount
Memorial Hospital Concern EAP while I began my private practice.
I left that job this year to dedicate more time to my private practice.
I have provided trainings on children and adolescents to both parents
and local organizations.
