HOW I CAN HELP
Hi, Iām Caitlyn!
I know that starting therapy can feel like a big step. Whether you're looking for support for yourself or your child, my hope is that you feel comfortable from the moment we meet. You don't have to know exactly what to say or have everything figured out. We'll simply start where you are.
I work with children, teens, adults, and families, and I genuinely love getting to know people and hearing their stories. Some of my favorite moments as a therapist are watching someone walk into their first session feeling unsure, then slowly begin to relax as they realize they don't have to pretend everything is okay. Working with children and adolescents has become one of the most rewarding parts of my career. I know therapy isn't always their idea, and that's okay. I enjoy taking the time to build trust, meet them where they are, and help them discover that therapy can be a place where they feel understood, accepted, and even look forward to coming.
During graduate school, some of the work I was most proud of involved supporting children and families navigating ADHD and autism. I enjoy working with neurodivergent clients because I believe therapy shouldn't be about changing who someone is. It's about understanding how they experience the world, recognizing their strengths, and finding strategies that actually fit their life.
I also enjoy working with LGBTQ+ clients and believe everyone deserves a place where they can be fully themselves without worrying about judgment. Creating an affirming, welcoming environment isn't something I add to therapy. It's simply how I believe therapy should feel.
My approach is relaxed, collaborative, and relationship-focused. Every person who walks into my office has different experiences, strengths, and goals, so I don't believe there's a one-size-fits-all approach. Together, we'll figure out what works best for you and move at a pace that feels comfortable.
MY BACKGROUND
Before becoming a therapist, I worked at Knoxville Rehabilitation Hospital while completing my master's degree at Lee University. That experience taught me how to stay calm during difficult moments, communicate with compassion, and support people through seasons that felt uncertain or overwhelming. Those lessons continue to shape the therapist I am today. I'm currently a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate at Cove Mountain Counseling and a doctoral student in Marriage and Family Therapy at Lee University. I feel incredibly grateful to do work that I truly love, and I'd be honored to help you or your family take the next step toward healing and growth.
